The experience can range from taking a relaxing stroll through the frigid wilderness of Chernarus, crouch walking past zombies in an abandoned military base, or chopping down trees to build a massive base that will eventually be ripped apart by other players while you sleep. The result will ALWAYS be death or disappointment, but the path you take to get there is one of the most relaxing experiences in gaming today. Would you like to go hunting for elk, build a campfire, and enjoy conversations with your friends around a warm fire while you grill some food?
Do you want to take a nice walk along the cold beaches and enjoy the breeze while doing meditative exercises? How about going for a pleasant drive through the Chernarus landscape, enjoying everything the country has to offer, from rolling hills to mountainscapes? DayZ provides all of those things, and also, a bear just might randomly spawn behind you and kill you before you have a chance to react.
Is there a little bit of danger and a sense of loss in DayZ? It's in the Alpha stage, which means it's still unfinished, so if you decided to buy you should understand that it can be buggy here and there.

Already downloaded over two million times via PC gaming service Steam, this is a game that makes everything difficult for the player, and where death is permanent. You spawn into the fictitious Eastern European state of Chernarus, site of a devastating zombie outbreak, then you survive for as long as possible — either with friends or alone.
Whichever you choose, the odds are stacked mercilessly against you. When you start a new life, you spawn randomly along the coast of Chernarus. All you have to survive is a flashlight and a battery. Your first port of call should be a town. When you get there you need to prioritise food, drink, a backpack, and a melee weapon. Forget about crowbars, fire extinguishers, and other blunt weapons, as they do very little damage.
Find an axe — either a red firefighter axe, or a wood-handled splitting axe. If you enter a town and all the doors are open, chances are the place has already been cleaned out by other survivors. Then get everyone to locate the nearest town to where they spawned and find out its name. The "content" in DayZ is really about what you want to do in-game.
Want to be a hero and help other survivors, or be a bandit and prey on others. Or maybe you can just be a tourist and explore all of the out of place areas. There seems to be a tendency for many people to default to being bandits. And, like a lot of FPS player behaviour its not alway nice but not everyone's encounters are the same and there's a variety of behaviours. Hey are you cool documents some interesting encounters.
So ultimately DayZ is what you make of it and is defined as much by the people you play with as the people you meet. We are the NPCs. I got to wondering what kind of "endgame" missions we could try to add a bit for fun. Or simply create interesting encounters for other people. No doubt people are trying all kinds of things already.
So I've written down a few possibilities. I know some of these are dumb, but they're a start. Visit all locations of a specific type, using the same spawn. If you're playing as a team either you all need to complete it together on the same spawn, or there has to be continuity. Take a selfie or group photo to record each location. Take a selfie from the top of the control towner in each. Find the brightest clothing possible, e. No stopping to loot and you must go through all of the main streets.
