Stuart diver how long

It surprised me that it was coming up, so I find myself recalling it quite a bit. Stuart Diver in , the same year his daughter Alessia was born. Photo: Stefan Postles.

He arrived on scene when it was pitch black, with only one thing standing out in his eyes — the sheer grade of the slope. Can anyone hear me? We wanted to get him out because we found him. Stuart Diver was eventually lifted out on a stretcher and Insp Hirst shook the hand of the man he found miraculously alive hours earlier.

I like that they do — I hope people see me as someone who has been through a couple of big tragedies now, and yet I can still get on with life and live it to the fullest. Overwhelmingly, my life is hugely positive.

Both Sally and Rosanna added such an enormous amount to my life that it would be sad for me not to live as positively as I can in their memory. My daughter Alessia calls me both her mum and her dad. Forgetting is the worst thing ever for children who lose their parents. I'm coughing, choking. Sal's screaming In the days that followed, the world mourned as rescuers dragged body after body from the rubble. But out of tragedy sprang an amazing story of survival.

Mr Diver said there were still some fears about frostbite - his son's right foot was looking good after treatment but there was some concern about toes on his left foot. He's got a very strong, strong willpower and strong mind. And he loves a joke. In a thick Scottish accent, Mr Diver told how he and his wife, Annette , arrived in as "ten quid migrants" and had eventually settled in Melbourne. Mrs Diver said: "I always thought he was fantastic An emotional Mr Featherstone, who spent 11 hours comforting and providing medical treatment to Stuart from a tunnel above him, also praised him for his incredible willpower and "strength of spirit".

When rescuers found Stuart, and spoke to him for the first time, he had no idea how long he had been trapped. He was disorientated and had lost all sense of time - for three days he did not know whether it was day or night.

He put himself into places which obviously he had a lot of fun and excitement in and had a good appreciation for.
